If you have a 2016 model year Ford vehicle with SYNC 3 it’s time to update. Ford recently launched SYNC 3 version 2.2 which can be downloaded now. Owners have three options for downloading including visting owner.ford.com and downloading to a USB stick, visiting a local Ford dealership, or through a Wi-Fi connection. What is the Ford MyKey System?
Picking out a car for a new driver is fun but then they need to learn to use it. Teaching new drivers the rules of the road can be a frustrating experience to say the least. Ford has made it easier to create safe driving habits with its MyKey system. What is the Ford MyKey system? It’s a system of programmable smart keys that when enabled allows the Admin Key holder to restrict certain vehicle features for drivers using the programmed MyKeys. Some features that can be controlled include a reminder chime and non-functional audio system until a seat belt is inserted, speed controls, early low fuel warnings, and audio volume control. Ford’s New Safety Technology Features
Currently, Ford offers more nameplates in the United States with adaptive cruise control, forward collision, lane departure warning with lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, driver monitoring, adaptive high-beam assist, blind spot information system and advanced parking assistant than any other full-line manufacturer. Ford is expanding its offerings with a range of next-generation features that are designed to ease parking hassles, improve collision avoidance, detect objects in the road and prevent wrong-way driving. How Does Ford’s Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection Work?
Collisions can not only be caused by distracted driving but also by distracted walking. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, every eight minutes, a pedestrian is injured in a motor vehicle crash. One of the main causes is people walking while texting which they have named “petextrians.” With the advancement of technology, pedestrians are more distracted than ever and Ford has created an active safety feature that helps predict the movements of pedestrians to help reduce the severity of and sometimes eliminate frontal collisions altogether. Ford announced that it is expanding its SYNC 3 connectivity platform, allowing compatibility of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto throughout its entire 2017 U.S. vehicle lineup of cars, SUVs, light trucks and electrified vehicles. The 2017 Escape, Fusion, Mustang and Explorer are all already available as 2017 model-year vehicles. The F-150, Focus, Edge and all-new 2017 Super Duty will arrive later this year. Ford’s SYNC 3 features all-new hardware and software for faster and more intuitive performance and more conversational voice recognition to help people easily connect to their smartphones and access a variety of features, including hands-free phone calls and available navigation.
