Differences between the 2017 Ford Focus and 2017 Nissan Sentra

While the two standard engines in the 2017 Ford Focus and 2017 Nissan Sentra may be similar in terms of efficiency, the engine in the Ford Focus provides a much more sporty drive. The 2.0L I-4 in the Focus produces 160 horsepower and has a much quicker and smoother acceleration than the 130 horsepower produced in the Sentra by its 1.8L I-4 engine. If you’re someone who wants just a bit more power under the hood, then you’re in luck. The Sentra can also be equipped with a 1.6L turbocharged I-4 engine with 188 horsepower, though this is easily outclassed by both the Focus ST and RS, which offer 252 hp and 350 hp, respectively.

More power isn’t the only available upgrade for the Focus and Sentra, as the two can also achieve higher levels of fuel efficiency. The Sentra can offer up to 37 MPG on the highway, but the Ford Focus beats this with its base engine, when equipped with an automatic transmission, and the available 1.0L EcoBoost I-3, which can get up to 40 MPG on the highway.
