On the schedule for the rest of the season is Wait Until Dark, Outside Mullingar, and Woodie Guthries American Song
Saint Michael’s Playhouse was started in 1946 with the intention of bringing professional theater talent to Vermont. Since it’s inception, headed by two professors at Saint Michael’s College the theater has been attracting seasoned professional actors from Broadway, Boston, and the greater Burlington area. Saint Michael’s Playhouse was booming until 1970 when its wooden headquarters burned to the ground. The playhouse had become a major institution in the area, and was not going to be lost. Five years later the playhouse celebrated its grand reopening in the state of the art McCarthy Arts Center. Now four decades, hundreds of shows, and over a million audience members later Saint Michael’s Playhouse is flourishing.
